Hospital Auxilary

Every Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m., a small army of "pink Ladies," members of the Caribou Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; descend on the Living Center to sing, to visit, to renew acquaintances, and to give a gift of love. They sing with the patrons of the Living Center. They provide music and with the Activities Director, even some dancing.

This service is one of a number of services provided by the auxiliary to the hospital, its patients and the community. Those services include:

Weekly sing-in at the Living Center
Providing a volunteer for the health immunization clinic
Sewing and mending surgical wraps and sewing bibs
Providing bonnets and wecome cards for new babies
Providing "Santa" boots for new babies at Christmas time
Immunization reminders for new babies (calls to remind mothers of scheduled immunizations)
Table decorations for the Living Center dining room
A quality care survey for hospital patients.

In addition to the services the Auxiliary provides, they also provide a very impressive list of gifts for the hospital and the Living center. Recently those gifts have included the refurbishing and furnishing of the west visiting room in the Living center, complete with sofas, comfortable chairs, color TV, etc.

They've contributed $1,500 towards the purchase of a baby warmer for the hospital nursery, a new piano for the Living Center, a new color TV for the activities room in the Living Center, and many wall decorations for this same activities room. These gifts come as a result of donations from businesses, from Local corporations and from private individuals.
